For nearly a decade, Mark Steffen has established a career in statewide political campaigns, government media relations and strategic consulting for Massachusetts candidates pursuing elected office. As Deputy Press Secretary and Production Manager for the Press Office of Governor Charlie Baker, he established operational principles for a team of communications professionals during the historic winter storm of 2015 which have continued into the governor's second term. He also served the administration as Deputy Communications Director at the Department of Conservation and Recreation, managing public responses to sudden occurrences on state land spanning 10 percent of the Commonwealth and implementing public relations strategies to highlight initiatives, project groundbreakings and completions seeking to promote the appreciation and use of natural resources.


In 2018 Mark served as Campaign Manager for Dan Shores for Attorney General, overseeing all aspects of fundraising, grassroots advocacy, policy development and communications. He continues to serve as a founding partner at Beacon Hill Strategies, helping political candidates develop their campaigns for local, state and federal offices in Massachusetts. Mark is a native of Moline, Illinois and a graduate of Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
